FAQ~ Is my Mini Aussie puppy vaccinated & what paperwork do I get?

HAS MY MINI AUSSIE PUPPY HAD ANY VACCINATIONS?

YES ~ We have worked out a vaccination schedule with our vet.  Our vet prefers not to overload the system of baby puppies.  Therefore, we give all puppies their first vaccination at around seven weeks of age instead of six.  Also, the first vaccine given is only covers two diseases.  We are currently using Nobavac Puppy DPv which covers only the basic Canine Distemper and Parvovirus (Parvo).

If a puppy happens to be with us when it reaches 9 weeks of age we will give the second vaccination.  This vaccination covers more of the basics.  This vaccination will be Nobavac Canine 1-DPPv which covers Canine Distemper, Adenovirus Type 1 (Hepatitis), Adenovirus Type 2 (Respiratory Disease), Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus (Parvo).   At this time we also give Bronchi-Shield Oral which covers Bordetella Brochiseptica  (aka Kennel Cough.)    If given in the oral form, this vaccine only needs to be given once for a puppy.  Injection or Internasal versions require this to be given at each additonal vaccination day.  These vaccines are considered "the booster" vaccines which should be given yearly along with anything your vet determines inportant for you pup and your situation.

HAS MY PUPPY BEEN WORMED?

YES ~ Worming usually starts around 4 weeks of age.  Puppies are de-wormed then again in two weeks after the first worming.  The reason for this is due to the lifecycle of the worms.  One worming consists of actually 3 days of worming.  Moms are wormed at the same time as worms can pass between mom and pup through the milk and mom's cleaning their pups.  We use Safeguard which covers all 4 major types of worms, Round worms, Tapeworms, Hook worms and Whip worms.

RECEIPT ~ You will receive a receipt with payment dates and breakdowns.

VACCINATION SCHEDULE ~ We provide information on what the minimum vaccinations should be given to a puppy and at what intervals.  Your veterinarian may want to add to this list to cover additional diseases.  View Vaccination Schedule
